At AJA DIVINE HEALING, I focus on the overall health of my moms. There is no "cookie cutter" doula package. Each mom deserves to pick the services and specialties she feels fits her individual needs. ​

My Story...

   I became a doula because I wanted to be the advocate for the mother and baby that I did not have during my labor and delivery. I was lost, confused, and felt bullied by doctors and nurses into doing more Western medicine practices during my labor and delivery; right down to the decision to have a hospital birth. I can distinctly remember the frustration and anger I felt when I realized that I was not being honored as a woman and my rights were limited during my daughter's birth. I was not educated enough to understand that my birth and delivery were MY CHOICES, and I should have full control within that space.

   My labor was difficult and rushed, and I had an emergency c-section that I now know was unnecessary. Being a doula, and having gone through in-depth training, I understand that there were natural practices that could have aided me in my preterm labor and delivery. I am thankful that my daughter is healthy and thriving but if I could go back in time with my current knowledge, I would have a doula that understood my birth plan and advocated for me. This is why I desire to help moms, who just like me, desire to be educated, supported, and in full control during their birth. Let's walk this journey of pregnancy, labor, and delivery together!
